PREPARING FOR THE BRIDEGROOM
For at least a decade now, the divisiveness and tension between people around the world has continued to build like the pressure under a massive volcano. In addition, recently there have been threats of war and now we are facing a possible world-wide pandemic. The “signs of the times” are rather bleak, to say the least. I find myself contemplating what I consider to be an inevitable awakening or shift in consciousness that a large portion of humanity is destined to experience as we continue down this road. Such awakenings are usually preceded by a period of “darkness before the dawn” events.
How close we are to that awakening is unknowable. As it says in the bible, only the Father knows that day and time. It does tell us in 1Corinthians:15, “…in that day ye shall all be changed in the twinkling of an eye.” I know this transformation will take place; this is not based on a belief. I have experienced several unique events in my life which confirm for me that the teachings and predictions of the New Testament are real and so is Jesus Christ.
I have never spoken to anyone about my visions and visitation except to my wife and late son. Her position is that whenever I speak to her about these experiences, she is filled with hope and inspiration. She thinks these experiences should be shared with others, rather than me taking them to the grave. As you read these accounts, keep in mind, I am not a messenger as there is no specific message to communicate in these visitations, I’m just a witness to the events.
The first story begins with me as a young boy of 9 or 10 years of age. I am by myself in my sunny backyard kicking a ball around when I suddenly stop and look upward to my left into the open sky. I am staring at a giant image of Mother Mary in the sky (from her mid torso upward). She is smiling lovingly at me and I am staring at her; she appeared to me exactly like the picture of her on the SC home page. No words were spoken and after about 10-15 seconds I went back to kicking my ball. I didn’t really think much about it, as I was not raised Catholic, and my only experience with Mother Mary was at Christmas and Easter. I never spoke of the encounter with my parents or anyone. It was not until I was in my early twenties that I really started to think about the significance of this experience. At the time, I was entering a period in my life in which I was thinking a lot about God and what I was going to do with my life.
Sometime later, in the early seventies, I joined a non-denominational Christian order and began living a semi-monastic life devoted to serving God and humanity. I became close to the head of the order, who I considered as my teacher, and later he ordained me as a priest; my ordination name is James. In the late seventies, my teacher passed on. At the time, I was in an executive position in the order. My responsibilities included the management of the monastic houses and their inhabitants in the NW region of the country. After my teacher’s passing, I thought it would be a good idea to visit the houses under my care and assure everyone services and routines would continue as usual. I also decided to take the scenic route to clear my head a little.
When I returned from my journey to my residence in the NW headquarters house, late that evening I was sitting in meditation at the altar in my room. My living quarters were comprised of a large room with a living room setting on one side for counseling and business, and on the other side in a corner near the door, was my altar for communion and meditation. At the other end of the room was my bedroom which was usually closed off with an accordion divider, but was presently open. As I stated above, I was deep in meditation when suddenly, in the area near my bedroom, I was standing, facing 3 individuals, even though I was still sitting in my chair with my eyes closed. Jesus was in the middle, my teacher was to His left, and a gentleman I did not recognize was on His right.
The gentleman on the right was a large, stocky man, full of life and good cheer; he was dressed like a woodsman from an old fairy tale. It seemed like he was smiling at me, but I could not have seen the smile because he had the biggest, fluffiest snow white beard I had ever seen; it gradually tapered to a point that went all the way down to his knees. I thought of this person often; I felt that if there was an individual in humanity who was responsible for the Santa Claus myth, this was him. It makes sense to me that such a being would be close to the Holy Family.
At the time, my main attention was on Jesus who in appearance was remarkably similar to the painting on the home page of this website except bigger and taller; he was at least 6’3 and wearing a white robe. I stared deeply into His eyes – this part of the visitation touched me profoundly and has remained with me to this day. As I was looking into the eyes of Jesus, I realized the personality of Jesus wasn’t there; but in fact, I was in the presence of God, the Father. It is true what Jesus said, “If you see me, you have seen the Father.”
In the next instant, I was sitting in my chair looking at a blazing light within myself that had a name written in it, and a soundless voice spoke the meaning of the name. This part of the vision I do not speak about as it has no meaning for anyone but me and I’m still pondering what the significance of it is. Other than the soundless voice there was no communication between myself and my visitors, but the experience was profound and permanently imprinted my memory. I was left with the feeling that this was a blessing and a confirmation of the path I am on and the work I would be doing.
I never told anyone in the order about this experience, even my close friends. At the time, considering all that was going on, I really didn’t think it would matter, and I didn’t want this amazing experience to be subjected to possible ridicule. As it turns out, I left the order about two years later. For these last 45 years, I figured I would be taking this to the grave. I pray my wife is correct in that the telling of this face to face encounter with Jesus Christ will give hope, inspiration and confirmation to people. Jesus is real and He is with us always as is Mother Mary. The experience of seeing Mother Mary has stayed with me like I saw her yesterday and she has made her presence known on several occasions throughout my life. What is important for people to remember is that this is not about me nor is it about you; it is about ALL of us – the brothers and sisters in Christ. Potentially, we are collectively the Church of Christ when we properly awaken to our divine nature within. Humanity fell from the Edenic state in order to develop self-conscious awareness (See: Perceptions), but it is our destiny to return to the Edenic state in Christ-consciousness as Divine Humanity.
Many people speak of the end times, meaning that the peace, prosperity and individual freedom the world has known since the end of WWII continues to rapidly fade away. What is emerging presently appears to be more closely related to fear, destruction, and uncertainty from the breakdown of cultural norms, the absence of moral values, the gradual loss of personal freedom from corporate and technological surveillance and theft of our personal data, and the incremental swing of the educational system toward socialism. The world today seems to be the expected fulfillment of the book 1984. Patriots are called supremacists, terrorists are called freedom fighters, and Christianity and faith in God is mocked, ridiculed, and in some places, violently maligned. Literally, up is down and down is up; and anything, even the most innocent of remarks, can and will be twisted so as to attack and damage some of the most caring of the world’s citizens. This turbulent period in history is the reason I felt compelled to share these visions.
The Return of Christ
Since the visitation I had from Jesus Christ, I am extremely sensitive in my internal listening and careful that what I write and do has God’s blessings. I always keep in mind the verse from Matthew 10:20, “For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” This brings me to one of my deepest convictions I want to present to my readers. In Matthew 24:30 it says, “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” I know there are many people who eagerly await this event. However, I would like to present something that is completely overlooked by the majority of Christians in regard to the second coming – that is, what must we as followers of Christ do NOW in preparation for this event. The spiritually awakened Christian plays a very important role in the second coming of Christ. In fact, the truly awakened disciple helps to prepare the way for this event.
All the content on the SC website is relevant to such an awakening. Every paper on this site stresses the importance of taking personal responsibility for your spiritual life by: detaching from the enticing and meaningless worldly illusions; learning what internal Christ-realization is and how to experience it; practicing daily meditation and learning to sit quietly and peacefully in God’s presence; being responsive and aware of the Holy Spirit. For the Spiritual Christian, Love, Light and Life are the cornerstones of our spiritual practices, but we must actively prepare ourselves for this upcoming event. Matthew 25:6-8 gives us clear direction, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.”
Anyone who reads the SC website knows the importance that is placed on meditation and personal transformation which are realized through self-knowledge and insights from Stages 1-2 Meditation practice. The goal to be achieved in these stages of meditation is to become transparent to God by transforming and letting go of all past error, pain, regret, and ignorance (See: The Shadow). The transformation and purification discussed in the Bible verse above means being a virgin, that is, a purified soul.
In all meditation systems, both Eastern and Western, the pineal gland is considered as the light of the body or the spiritual eye; Jesus refers to this when He said, “Keep thine eye single and thy whole body will be filled with light.” In meditation, light, focused-breathing and virtuous thought circulating in the ventricles around the pineal gland stimulates the spiritual eye making it secrete an oily substance which revitalizes the body and awakens consciousness; this is the oil of the lamp which lights the body referred to in the parable above.
Today, many people are meditating and transforming their lives, but more needs to be done to help prepare the way for Christ’s return. In this synchronistically-connected life, it may very well be the conscious awakening of some predetermined number of people which actually triggers the event. Recently, I read Original Meditation: The Aramaic Jesus & the Spirituality of Creation and this author seemed to agree with me that humans play an active role in Christ’s return. He writes, “The entire creation story is living and active, waiting for enough human beings to activate it in their own awareness and so bring the divine dispensation back to earth in an outer way. The “son of man” which some scholars translate as “son of Adam,” would be this person who enfleshed the original divine image of creation – Holy Wisdom’s son come to activate the power of sacred beginnings now.”
There are many of you reading this paper who are Children of Light but do not yet realize it. The Children of Light need to awaken and consciously take responsibility for their personal salvation so they are ready to serve others when perilous times fall upon us. This is accomplished by consciously connecting with the presence of Christ within, cleansing and purifying the psycho-cognitive soul and connecting with the Sacred Heart as described in Stage 2 Meditation. Otherwise, as the world sinks deeper and deeper into darkness and chaos, many will find their faith severely tested. We all need to focus on getting our own house in order first and foremost! This is what it means to prepare for the bridegroom.
Meditation is an internal and personal communion with the presence of God, the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Stage 3 Meditation is the way to realize that we are created in the image and likeness of God and understanding that we are ALL the same in the eyes of God. Jesus Christ died on the cross, He resurrected His body and ascended so we ALL could realize that we are both human and divine just as He is; this transformation of consciousness will be humanity’s resurrection. He does not care what race, religion, or nationality a person is. He only cares whether or not you understand who He is and believe that He truly represents a state of divinity which also exists within each one of us. He wants us to awaken to that holy state within and become Christ-like too. This is also preparing for the bridegroom.
What I am suggesting is that each one of us meditates on being one with the divine image in which we were created; this is the divine human matrix Jesus embodied. Through this divine human matrix, we can connect with the knowing and feeling of oneness which exists in this present moment with all the brothers and sisters of Christ who are also awake within. We are here and we are one in Christ; we just have to become conscious of it in order to bring more Divine Light into the world and to prepare the way for God’s will to be done in earth as it is in heaven. Be an active follower of Christ, seeking a true Self-realization experience in Christ. The Church of Christ, the Church without walls, will come alive when each of us gains the knowledge of our divine Self within and manifests it completely in life by being transparent to God and doing His will.
